The Department of Clinical Veterinary Science provides exemplary services in small and large animal surgery and medicine, offering primary and referral care for all species. Our university hospitals, situated in one of Switzerland's most picturesque cities, boast state-of-the-art facilities and are renowned centers of excellence in veterinary education. 

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Veterinary Dermatologist to join our esteemed academic institution. This position offers an initial term of four to six years, with the potential for a permanent appointment thereafter. The working hours, initially set at 80%, are negotiable, and job-sharing arrangements are available. The position must be filled by June 2024. 

Requirements: 

  • DVM or equivalent degree 
  • ECVD or ACVD board certification 
  • Clinical experience and proficiency in veterinary dermatology 
  • Team player and excellent communication skills 
  • Interest in clinical research is not mandatory but suggested 
  • Competencies in analyzing and optimizing clinical workflows are essential 
  • Management and leading experience are welcome 
  • Proficiency in German and/or French is required, with fluency in both written and spoken communication 

 

Responsibilities: 

As a key member of the Clinical Dermatology Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervision and organization of the clinical dermatology service in the small and large animal hospitals. The candidate will provide clinical and didactic teaching to veterinary students, residents, interns and technicians, and will contribute to outreach activities for veterinarians. Participation in existing research collaborations (DermFocus) is expected and new collaborations are encouraged. 

Salaries will be commensurate with professional and academic credentials and experience.
